Archive Notes: Volcanic Onslaught

While sailing to the court of Duke Gutevar of Andarus our Hoard Master came upon previously undiscovered island. The small island was freshly formed and at it center stood a towering mountain spitting forth fire, magma and the math rock Volcanic Onslaught (Priatilite).  These unusual stones come from deep within the ground and carry the color of magma; however they do not melt.. These gems littered the coast of this new island, and to this day only Esimar knows where this island is. As such we have quite the exclusive reserve of these ni-nonmeltable ruby colored jewels.

Title: Volcanic Onslaught
Level: 3
Type: Evocation
Casting Time: Action
Range: Self
Components: V,S,M (1 small obsidian gem)
Duration: 5 rounds (see description)
Description:
Lava extends from the casters feet covering their body with 1000 degree Celsius magma. The magma provides AC 18 (no dex bonus allowed) with protection from fire damage. For the first round after casting the caster may move at their normal walking rate, and may pass through 5' of solid material at 1/2 speed; leaving a melted or burned hole behind them. The second round the caster can move 1/2 their normal speed and continue to move through solid objects at 1/4 their normal speed. Round three, the caster can move 1/4 their normal speed but can no longer pass through solid objects. On the fourth round the caster is prone as the magma cools to rock but retains their 18 AC and protection from fire. On the 5th round the stone shell shatters causing 1d10 damage to everyone within a 20 foot radius except the caster (dex save to avoid damage).
